Poem: Indecision
By Pasqual Torres

At the intersection of my conscience
I'm lost without a map
One side says stop, the other side says go
It feels like at trap
Anxious and queasy, my pulse is rising
The lights are starting to flash
I have to do something, instead of nothing
Or else I'm left only to crash
Guilt
Understanding
Empathy
Remorse
I'm headed in too many directions
I need to be grounded, change the course
and find some other connections
If I play it safe and take the smooth road
I could end up going nowhere
But if I risk it all, in the fast lane
I might find myself in utter despair
The light changes as quick as the wind
and the decision has been made for me
I've been blindsided; I'm completely pinned
And left to suffer in my self-imposed agony
