Renewed Youth
By examining our children we can take an honest look at our own childhood. We see our emotional sensitivity. We see what we didn't get from our parents. And most importantly we can create a new dynamic with our children when we see what we wish we had and not repeat the issues our parents had with us. I know we can't change the past but by reflecting on it we can revision our memory of it and give new direction to our present experience. This may mean seeing stories we told ourselves about our parents and letting go of anger we may have had or shame in something we felt. This is so important to our continued growth because we can't move forward without resolving old issues. And in the end our children benefit as much as we do.
