Money is a good thing
Good news is I got a raise at my job, and despite the saying that money doesn't make you happy, I am happy with my money. It's not that money itself, dirty paper, does it for me, it's not really anything I can buy that does it for me either. I really don't collect or buy anything, I invest in my life. What I like about it is not having to worry as much. With money I know that I can go out to eat somewhere nice or I can buy someone a gift or run my air conditioner a little more. It's really a quality of life standard I literally could not afford previously. People who have never been really poor, say money isn't the key. I've been flat broke a few times and it was horrible. Now I can actually plan a trip to see someone without the fear of what I'll have to give up... eating food, air conditioner or seeing my friends. If you don't know I live in Phoenix so A/C is like life or death here. But I think the true meaning behind money won't make you happy comes from the fact that even beer won't make you happy if you are already unhappy. I'm down the middle there. I've never been totally cheerful but I'm not totally negative and try to see the brighter side of things. But let me tell you what money has at least given me the option to do: Buy a house, fix my car, settle down, have kids, go back to school, and improve my wardrobe. These things are important to me and having money opens these doors. So for anyone still thinking money doesn't buy happiness, they are buying too much junk and not investing in their own well being.
